Show and Tell...

Today at homeschool, Gabby asked if we could have "show and tell". She had a bunny rabbit, a huge sea shell, and some other small treasures all packed up ready to share about when she asked. She was excited when I agreed to her request. :) She brought her goodies up to the schoolroom ready to start school. I told Ellie that she needed to go and find a very special thing to show us and tell us about why it is so special to her. After running around the house a bit looking for something special to her, I thought she would come back with a baby doll or little pony, since those toys are her favorite. She re-entered the schoolroom with nothing in hand. She walked over to a framed picture of her brother Ezra that is at her level on a shelf, one she admires often. She picked it up with a huge smile on her face and brought it to her desk. After Gabby shared about her treasures and even had some precious "stones" to share and give away, it was Ellie's turn. She got up in front of her sister, mommy, and bubby. She was a bit shy, but then I encouraged her to share about the picture. She smiled and said, "this is my brother when he was little...he is special cause he is our present..." and sat back down. Tears welled up in mommy's eyes...we often refer to Ezra as our little gift from God and both girls take this phrase to heart. Ellie has said before that Ezra needs a bow on, cause he is our gift...and even just last night, she asked if Bubby came in a box...Daddy figured it out, since I was confused...she was referring to him being our gift :)

Times like these when your precious little ones can bring you to tears due to their sweet understanding of life, makes your heart just melt. I wanted to share this with you about our little Ellie, who along with her older sister and brother, is a GIFT from God we treasure and love.
ENJOY your children today and catch their take on life and who God is to them. They will melt your heart and cause you to take a moment to cherish their sweet, gentle spirits...

That is so precious. She sounds very compassionate. I trait many adults need to learn.
Your homeschool sounds fun. You say "classroom"? Do you have a place like a classroom with desk and all? I kinda am trying to figure out what I will do.

How sweet Liz! Hug that precious little girl for me!
We have a classroom for school. Helps with seperating home (for me) and school(for the boys) so we 'buckle down' when needed without added distractions. :)
A few weeks ago, when visiting Dorothy the night she had her baby, a nurse came in to check on her and saw Wyley. She got so compassionate and asked if he was ok or if he needed an ice pack of anything. We all were confused for a second until Wyley told her that his cheek is his special gift from God and it makes him unique. I teared up so fast knowing that his sweet spirit understands that God gives us different challanges and our attitude regarding it is what matters most. *sigh*
Just another week or two hugh? Praying for you many times everyday friend!

What a sweetie, you are doing a great job with those kiddos, keep up the good work and keep looking to the Lord for your decisions inspite of what others may pressure you to think. Praying for you as that new date draws near, love you, Bethy P.S. It is hard to believe that Ellie will be four soon. . . where does the time go?

They love their brother with unconditional love because you two as parents do and you set a wonderful example for them. Imagine the children with problems born into unsaved families... often they are put down and ignored. The parents don't usually teach the other children how precious they are and that God made them just how they are. What a blessing to hear!
